This year is my food year. I started to pay attention to what I eat, where it comes from, and how to best prepare it as to get the most nutrients. To honor this intention, I've begun a humble roof garden, hoping to get my hands dirty with the knowledge of growth.
Several weeks ago, I planted some seedlings. Some died, some thrived. One thing led to another and I bought some more plants. As of today, the garden-we shall call it am a proud owner of plum tomatoes, table tomatoes, Hungarian peppers, strawberries, spinach, onion, cucumbers, squash, eggplant, basil, cilantro (though it's not doing so well as of now since the winter chill returned in June), mint, dill, wheat grass, thyme, and rosemary.
My intention is to expand this baby and grow enough to feed two people regularly. Any suggestions on growing an organic garden, small garden methods, and other tips are more than welcome!
